Though it is their workspace, they've also moved into mounting small exhibitions in the space and getting involved in the local arts community. Julie and Chris have co-curated an upcoming show of much larger scale I think than other things they've done, and it is this that I am involved in.
"The Art of Roleplaying Games" is a rather large exhibition featuring art spanning over 20 years of RPG publishing and featuring nearly 100 works of original art across all manner of RPGs.
Artists include Todd Lockwood, Melissa A Benson, Michael Phillippi, Liz Danforth, Mark Tedin, Rob Alexander, Brian Snoddy, Anthony Waters, Heather Hudson, Raven Mimura, Lee Moyer, Samuel Araya, Jeff Menges, RK Post, Mark Smylie, Drew Tucker, Jeremy Jarvis, Aaron McConnell, Jeremy Corff, Julie Baroh, Sarah Otterstatter, plus collections featuring Brom, Jeff Dee, Jeff Easley and more...including yours truly. Sorry I'm not linking everyone...them's a lot of people.
The exhibition runs 8/11/2012-9/6/2012, with an opening on 8/11. I will have two original paintings in the show: "Windflight" and "Elemental Anchorite," the latter of which they were kind enough to put on the show flyer. I will not be able to make it to the opening, unfortunately. If you're anywhere in the area, it promises to be a great show, and I know many local artists will be there for the opening. I haven't displayed original art in the Northwest in maybe 15 years or more, barring a signing event in Oregon a few years back. My pieces will be available for sale, so you could even go home with them. They'd really like that.
Thanks to the good folks at Krab Jab for organizing this and having me be a part of it.
